Full Unbundling versus Partial Unbundling

Unlike many of our competitors Jilanda SecureSmart exchanges are fully unbundled, providing us with greater efficiency and control over network quality and resilience. Full unbundling means installing a Multi Service Active Node (MSAN) in each exchange rather than a DSLAM. This allows Jilanda SecureSmart to seamlessly receive both voice and data traffic into the exchange where the MSAN converts it to IP.  One key characteristic of an MSAN-based network is built-in Quality of Service (QoS) packet prioritisation.

Most of our competitors have partially unbundled exchanges. This limits them to providing broadband services only. If they want to have a voice service, they are compelled to use VoIP terminals or CPS. The limitations are obvious - the customers of such so-called competitors will not want to buy additional VoIP-friendly telephones/headsets, nor will they want to go on receiving two bills - one for broadband, one for voice.

    • We can provide our customers with lines and calls across a wide variety of connection methods including:
      • Single analogue line - A single phone line and number.
      • Multiple auxiliary analogue lines - Connect an analogue phone system using one main shared phone number and a number of additional lines to manage capacity.
      • ISDN-2 - Ideal if a customer requires capacity for 2 – 6 simultaneous external voice/data calls using 1 – 3 lines.
      • ISDN-30 - Great for organisations requiring capacity for 8 or more external voice/data calls at the same time.
  • SIP (session Initiated Protocol) Trunking
    • SIP stands for Session Initiation Protocol, a signalling protocol used for supporting voice over IP (VoIP). Our SIP trunks support VoIP between IP PBXs and the telephone network.     • Jilanda SecureSmart's conferencing service is cost-effective, convenient and easy to use. Access is instant and conferences can be held anytime, anywhere in the UK for at a fixed-rate call charge per participant. All our customers need to do is one simple dial-in number 0871 880 0088.
    • Easy to use
      With no registration required, the set-up process is easy. The conference leader determines the date and time of the call, chooses a 6-digit PIN then sends out an invitation containing these details and the dial-in number. To join the conference, participants dial in at the appointed date and time then enter the conference PIN.
    • Saves money
      Calls cost only 6.81p* per minute + VAT per participant. There are no hidden charges, set up fees or monthly charges. Up to 20 participants can join a conference, saving on expensive travel and accommodation costs associated with face-to-face meetings.
